Director Biography – Rena Dumont
Born in 1969 in the Czechoslovakian city of Prostějov, Rena Dumont fled with her mother to Germany in 1986, where she spent eight adventurous months in the refugees home in Königsee. In spring 1987 she received political asylum and moved to the next big city in the area, to Munich. After less than four years and despite the language barrier, she passed the entrance examination of the “Hochschule für Musik und Theater” in Hannover, which she graduated with diploma. Ever since she has been acting in numerous plays and theatres, as in various productions for cinema and television. Beside her professions as an actor and script writer she focuses on her writing in general. Her first novel “Paradiessucher” was published by HanserVerlag in 2013, as some anthologies by dtv. Developing and producing her own material is Rena Dumont ́s future goal. “TEST OF COURAGE” is her directorial debut (www.dumontfilms.com/en/die- mutprobe). “HAPLESS HANS” her second short.
